ooh Pinterest, how I love you! I found this gorgeous/shockingly soft blanket on Pinterest, and needed it ASAP. The tutorial is
here and the author, Christina, was incredibly helpful with questions. I used the same fabrics (a minky and a cotton twill) as she did, so our blankets are essentially identical. Identically AMAZING! so soft and gorgeous. and BIG! It's about 5 feet by 6 feet, so much bigger/cozier than the faux chenille blanket. The minky was a bit hard to work with, so if you make this, use Christina's advice and pin, pin, pin!

Another recent project is the
Snappy Toddler Dress from Prudent Baby (for Shayna, of course), who are two of my very favorite women ever. Their website is full of sewing and craft projects, as well as delicious recipes, my two favorite being the
One-Minute Chocolate Chip Cookie and a
Coffee Cake in a Cup. Best of all, you don't even need to have a baby to enjoy their site! so check them out at
PrudentBaby.com.
Coming soon: matching mother-daughter outfits for Jessica and Shayna! too cute. bye!

So cute!! I'm jealous you made it and that you have one already! It looks so beautiful and comfy. Also I'm scared to sew with such tricky fabric ha!
do it!! it's awesome. my mom already stole it from me (good thing we live in the same house). the fabric is a bit tricky; make sure you use 100% cotton. i accidentally ordered a jersey knit the first time around and it was impossible to use. i just used the same fabrics she recommended from fabric.com - easy easy (and i get them on amazon.com). but don't be scared! just pin a lot and really use the pins as your guide. it's not so hard! promise.
I love the fabric you used for the snappy top--so cute! Don't you just love that pattern--I've made three of them so far!
Ashley, it turned out so well! Thanks so much for sharing your pictures! :)
